Welcome to Full Circle Yoga & Ayurveda!

In the pages to follow you will learn a little bit about me and the work I do.  If you are new to yoga, ayurveda, aromatherapy, reflexology or career counselling , these pages are meant to give you a brief introduction and a sense of what to expect from your appointment or class.   Presently, I teach yoga at Victoria Park Senior Centre in Fergus – Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga and Regular Hatha Yoga.  I see clients at  the Centre on Mondays and the rest of the week, at my Home Office in Arthur.

Please feel free to send me any questions you may have through my contact page.  Please see the Classes and Hours Page for more information about making Appointments or registering for Classes.

Always fascinated with people and their stories, my training has been a weaving of natural healing practices and counselling starting with a Bachelor Degree in Religious Education.  I have worked in a religious environment counselling and developing both programs and people and then as a Law Clerk, managing a department with tons of daily interactions, many of which I soon discovered were focused more on where people were at and what they wanted in their lives than on law.

And so, I followed my desire to help people discover their heart’s desire for their life and trained as a Career Development Practitioner (Conestoga College, Kitchener), taking counselling and career process courses.  Always clearly resonating with the plant world, I then trained to be a Certified Aromatherapy Health Professional (through JoyEssence Aromatherapy, Joy Watson).  Continued on to become a Certified Reflexologist (through Haelen School of the Creative and Healing Arts, Margaret Bell) and Reiki Practitioner (through Soul Connection, Barbara McKell) in order to further help people balance not just their careers but themselves as well.   I love this work!  To see people immediately relax and feel better is deeply gratifiying.

Yoga was a natural progression as it is a life practice that can be with you always, helping balance  mind and body. My first and ongoing teacher, Sharon Burke teaches classes in Fergus, ON and my formal teacher training was with Rita Cupitt who teaches in Guelph, ON.  Others have influenced and brought different perspectives along the way as well through many workshops and classes in various styles of yoga.  My teaching style is heavily influenced by the Satyananda style of yoga and also by Esther Myers and Kripalu styles while incorporating Yin Yoga as learned from Sarah Powers.

Then came Ayurveda and the realization I had come Full Circle!  Ayurveda is the sister science to Yoga, focusing on one’s well-being perhaps primarily physically but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  Ayurveda really is the all encompasing knowledge of life.  Its scope is vast while its simplicity  profound.  Based on viewing us (people) and nature as varying combinations of five elements, namely: ether, air, fire, water and earth, we seek to find balance by cooperating with the seasons, our environment, our food and our lifestyle.  Ayurveda prepares the body for Yoga.  Both can aid in your living your best life, in whatever career and life paths you take.
